What We Are Looking For:

This is a roll-up-sleeves and get-hands-dirty role for an ambitious and hungry Communications and Brand Marketing specialist who wants to partner with a world class team to build a next generation fashion brand.

As the Director of Global Communications and Brand Marketing, you will help drive global brand awareness for ANINE BING through strategic communications across traditional media and influencer relations with a specific, hyper-focus on the NYC market. This role will be an NYC-based position working closely with the Vice President, Global Communications and Brand Marketing and the in-house team based in Los Angeles. The position will be supporting the Communications team in orchestrating earned media coverage through opportunities that generate a disproportionate share of buzz, elevate our positioning in the industry and give us exposure to new audiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure ANINE BING leads the industry through innovative communications strategies, partnerships and events, rather than following it.
  • Oversee cross functional processes to ideate creative, out-of-the box storytelling opportunities
  • Support the team in building global press launch strategies for all new launches and store openings including media outreach, influencer seeding, events, partnerships, etc.
  • Oversee and support global influencer marketing strategy and execution; including reporting and metrics to ensure goals are clear and measured
    • Deploy influencer campaigns across our global influencer community to drive awareness and education for product launches or brand initiatives.
    • Oversee the organization of the influencer calendar and reporting across all influencer activity globally.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize press and influencer placements across all our brand channels.
    • Work closely with external legal counsel to manage all influencer agreements from negotiation to execution.
  • Pitch and secure editorial coverage (digital + print) including product placement and features for the brand and our founder.
  • Responsible for continuous evolution and amplification of AB Muse strategy through dedicated programming that will increase online word of mouth among everyday people that love ANINE BING
  • Support the development and execution of philanthropy platform which ensures the brand will connect emotionally with our consumers around the world.
  • Support the VP with ongoing execution of sustainability strategy and help to increase consumer awareness of the brand’s initiatives
  • Nurture and grow our community of VIPs, influencers and brand loyalists by fostering relationships, strategizing unique brand experiences and securing valuable content for our brand.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with broadcast, print and online journalists as well as social influencers.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience at an agency or in-house working on fashion, beauty, or lifestyle brands
  • Experience in Global Communications with knowledge specifically within the APAC region is preferred
  • Strong personal relationships with fashion, beauty, and lifestyle media outlets, staying in the know of the expected turnover on editorial teams
  • A creative storyteller with the ability to create fresh and compelling narratives that help define our brand positioning within the fashion and apparel landscape
  • Analytical, with experience tracking and reporting on KPI’s for press campaigns
  • Adaptable, resourceful and forward thinking
  • Experience working at innovative, fast-paced startups or indie brands is a plus
  • Hyper independent and self-motivated, and always proactive versus reactive
